What is Online Bill Pay?

Online Bill Pay is a service that allows you to pay virtually anyone or any company through your Online Banking account. You determine whom you want to pay, when you want to make the payment and from which account you want the payment to come.

Who can use Online Bill Pay?

Any Online Banking customer of The Blue Grass Valley Bank that has an active checking account and is eligible can use Online Bill Pay.

How do I enroll in Online Bill Pay?

Log into your Online Banking account and click on the “Bill Pay” tab. Your personal information will be pre-filled. After verifying that all the information is correct, click “Submit”.

You will be required to choose four challenge questions and answers that will be used to confirm your identity during certain Bill Pay transactions. You will also need to create a security key that will display with each Bill Pay login, which will signify you are on your authentic Bill Pay site.

After you have read and accepted the Bill Pay Terms, Conditions and Agreement, click “Submit.”

Following your enrollment, you will receive an email from The Blue Grass Valley Bank with information to help you get started making payments and managing your bills online.

Whom can I pay with Online Bill Pay?

You can pay virtually any business or individual with a mailing address within the United States and Puerto Rico. For example, you can pay utilities, cable bills, credit cards, or individuals such as a landlord, babysitter or relative.

How do I start making payments using Online Bill Pay?

First, login to your Online Banking account. Next, click on the “Bill Pay” link. Then add your payee from the “Payees” tab. Finally, enter the amount and the process date and submit the payment.

How are payments delivered?

Payments are sent one of two ways — electronically or by paper check. The majority of payments are delivered electronically, and your payment information, such as your account number, is sent via secure transmission. All other payments are made by paper checks that are mailed via the U.S. Postal Service.

Is Online Bill Pay secure?

Using Online Bill Pay is one of the fastest and safest ways to pay your bills. Online Bill Pay helps guard against identity theft from lost or stolen checkbooks, bills and statements. It also increases your privacy because only you can access your account information, account numbers and payment history. As a result, you maintain tighter control of your account with real time to your payment activity.

How long does it take for my payment to be received?

Generally, payments are received within two to seven days, depending on whether the payment is sent electronically or via paper check. An estimated arrival date will be provided when a payment is scheduled.

What happens if I do not use Bill Pay for an extended period?

If you do not use this service for 120 consecutive days, your account will be deactivated. At that time, any future dated or recurring transactions will be deleted.
